Sutherland Smith Group engaged noba Event Intelligence to develop a bespoke software and app solution to highlight and promote the fantastic camera on the HTC One smartphone. The main aim was to increase brand awareness and audience engagement via social media.
An HTC penalty shootout competition was set up to showcase the event and invited visitors to take part in the challenge. A great range of prizes were offered to entrants, ranging from HTC phones to UEFA Super Cup tickets.
A number of HTC One phones were used to capture action shots of participants having a go and footage of their efforts were uploaded to social media channels.
Our bespoke software was integrated with an onsite Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system, allowing real time social media integration.
The noba system used high-resolution images of the participants taken with the HTC One, which were then personalised with details such as the competitor’s name, ball speed, accuracy and so on. They also included images of the competitor in action and incorporated the HTC branding too. These images were then automatically uploaded to each participant’s Facebook wall and displayed on a big screen at the event for all to see.
The software solution also added competitor scores to a leader board automatically, so people could see how they did compared with everyone else, and how close they were to getting a fantastic prize.
There was also a surprise appearance from Hollywood heavyweight Will Smith and his son Jaden at one point, much to the delight of the crowds.
