As the events industry ground to a halt, events cancelled and venues closed, the noba team refused to stand still. Like many companies, we found ourselves adapting to support all of our industry sectors across our brand portfolio, including healthcare, education and construction. This was alongside investing the team’s enforced downtime into the R&D side of our business. Their ingenuity was focused on what would be required in our newly adapted world and so, the nBox was born; our solution for portable and unlimited plug and play internet, and enterprise grade WiFi for team home working, smaller scale events and live streaming.
The nBox for events
Although our traditional connectivity solutions remain the go-to for handling high numbers of users simultaneously, we developed this solution in response to a growing demand for cost-effective, reliable connectivity for smaller events and live streaming applications. We took everything we knew about bonded cellular for large-scale deployments and refined the technology so that it fits inside a small, highly portable Peli Case. The nBox still offers many of the features of our more traditional connectivity solutions (highly secure, single public IP address, class-leading WiFi and reliability), whilst also meeting the budgets of the scaled-down, COVID-era event marketplace.
The nBox at home
As the UK’s working population transformed various rooms in the house into home office spaces, and the children joined them to home learn (along with working on their gaming skills and catching up with their favourite online bloggers!), the demand on the home internet exploded. The nBox offers the perfect solution for combining existing home broadband connections with an unlimited 4G connection, to produce a single, more reliable and highly secure internet connection. Coupled with an enterprise grade, super stable WiFi connection, nBox is the UK’s most reliable 4G solution.
There is also the option of including ‘site-to-site VPN’, which extends your work network into your home so that you’re able to access all of the same resources you would in the office, such as file servers, printers and more.
How the nBox works
Setup of the nBox couldn’t be easier; simply plug in to a power source, wait five minutes and connect either via the enterprise grade WiFi connection or a network cable. The nBox comes with a default WiFi name and password, but this can be customised to meet your requirements at no extra cost.
Pricing of the nBox will depend on your specific requirements but rental starts from £150 + VAT.
Highly portable, the nBox weighs the same as a standard laptop and is super simple to set up. Plus, our bonded 4G connections come with truly unlimited data, meaning no more excess data charges. For more information on the nBox and its features, click here.
Beyond the nBox
Alongside the nBox, the team has been busy developing other services too. We are now more prepared than ever to help our clients navigate the complex virtual landscape of events with our hybrid and virtual event solutions. Our software development team has been busy developing solutions for automated mass temperature checking and face mask detection, along with customised solutions for COVID-19 preventative online event check-in. We are also currently developing our own contact tracing software that utilises Bluetooth wearables, beacon technology and WiFi to accurately pinpoint staff and guest movements across a venue space for the duration of a live event.
We’re continuously developing products to meet the demands of this rapidly changing pandemic landscape. We’re sure that, as the uncertainty continues, so will the demand for products we didn’t even know were needed. If you require support or advice on anything WiFi and IT related for events, we would love to help. Get in touch with the team today on 0345 612 3008 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
