We were recently chosen by ITV and leading agency Designscene to design, install and support a fully managed hard-wired and wireless network to facilitate access to both the internet and ITV’s content delivery platform. We also built and configured ITV’s primary content delivery server, which streamed hi-def video to 30 custom designed pods.
The requirements of the project were to deliver a highly resilient, always-on network to allow internet connectivity and hi-def streaming of TV shows from ITV’s local content server, backed up by a fast response onsite engineering team.
The custom designed pods allowed ITV to display their content to global buyers who descended upon Cannes for the annual MIPCOM event. Described as a ‘gathering of the world’s most influential industry players for four days of meetings, screenings and conferences’, the event allows the TV industry and programme makers to ‘find new partners at the year’s most anticipated global market for entertainment content across all platforms’.
In order to ensure a highly robust system, the noba team designed the core network so that all critical hardware had a ‘hot-swappable’ spare. This ensured zero downtime if the router or wireless controller failed, which is a crucial factor when relying heavily on the network to showcase TV shows and content.
As with all of our critical deployments, a highly skilled noba engineer was on site to respond immediately to any issues. We’re happy to say no issues were reported during the event and the network enjoyed 100% uptime!
Trusted by Global Brands
Backed up by a dual link hardwired network, auto-failover satellite internet connectivity and three UPS systems, the ITV Studios House network is a great example of the highly resilient networks that noba are trusted to deliver by global brands and agencies alike.
